A Canadian Northern train from Duluth Minnesota and Fort William Ontario derailed near Loretté Manitoba. Five coaches plus a baggage and dining car overturned into the ditch. The wreckage caught fire but 200 passengers escaped through broken windows and helped extinguish the flames.
