Head of Indian spiritualists leads 600 members at Onset

Mrs Mary C Weston heads the Indian spiritualists a 600 member sect with headquarters in her Ramona cottage Onset. Their octagonal wigwam on the Onset Bay camp ground serves as a temple for Indian spirits and hosts meetings where they claim spirits materialize and only Indian controls are admitted. The structure is 96 feet around and 26 feet high featuring an Indian banner raised as a symbol of rights of the Indian race. Weston is described as wealthy and artistic yet charitable, never accepting payment for her art. The group aims to heal the poor without money and to provide a retreat for mediums to unfold spiritually and release spirits in prison.
