Fatal Accident at Lewis Street Stairway Tragedy
Samuel Howard aged 55 fell down a stairway at the house of Gerard Forherst on Lewis street Saturday night and died shortly after. Coroner Smith summoned. Gamblers Arrested. Eight people were taken into custody by the police at Edward Dever’s house Saturday night on gambling charges. Dead Child Found. Coroner Connell handles a dead female child found in the cesspool of 28 Seneca street. Accident. George Gilman a ten year old boy injured his foot at Pope's wharf when lumber piles collapsed. police attended him.
