Late arriving liners bring cargo and tales from sea

Several transatlantic liners arrived late after rough weather. The Bostonian, Arranmore, Peruviana and Anglian faced gales with only the Arranmore sustaining deck damage. The Bostonian carried cattle and freight, while the Arranmore required minor repairs after docking at Hoosac. The Peruviana brought china clay to Mystic docks, and a stowaway was taken ashore. The westward fleet, except H M Whitney, also ran late due to the storm. The Fillmore’s fate was clarified, and Captain R. D. Buchman was named admiral of the Turkish navy with a large, modern fleet.
