J Walter Spalding of A G Spalding & Bro New York is near death after an automobile accident at a level crossing near Mondragon Avignon France Dec 18. His car broke down near the crossing barrier and overturned throwing out three friends. he suffered a fractured frontal bone and eye injuries from shattered spectacles. An express train passed the scene shortly after the crash.
