Harry Baker pleads guilty to murder in the second degree and is to life imprisonment at hard labor. Elnora Baker, his wife in name, pleads guilty to being an accessory after the fact. Both sit in court as the judge sentences them and newsmen report the dramatic plea switch.
District Attorney Esty announced no evidence would be presented against Mrs Baker on the first degree murder charge after she pleaded Guilty to other counts. Judge Sisk directed a not guilty verdict on the murder charge and the court scheduled sentencing. Baker and her husband Reisen Baker embraced as deputies cleared the Worcester courtroom. Baker faces transport to Charlestown following the noon Worcester train, with Sheriff Richardson and Deputy Hamer accompanying him.
