An unspecified supplier offers a Fibre Lined Vest made from strong fibrous paper resembling chamois, claimed to be the warmest undervest. It is cut large to lap over the undershirt, priced at 50 cents each plus 5 cents postage by mail. The dealer also promotes Leather Vests, buckskin and flannel lined, with various prices from $3.00 to $18.00 and wholesale and retail dealings.
Edward Kennedy, a Trenton horse dealer, was robbed of 2600 in Richard Cronin's opium den. Cronin alerted police causing the arrest of John Hallish, present when the money vanished. Cronin refuses location of the den. police unsure. Justice Ford postponed Hallish's examination until inquiries finish.
Mr T T Pitman and Mrs L I Davis sailed from Havre on the steamer La Champagne with the remains of Mrs Pitman Margery Deane to be brought to Newport for burial.

Mrs Timothy Merrick widely known as Professor Priscilla H Braisin of Vas sar College died of heart disease at her Holyoke home after a five week illness. Born July 1838 near Burlington New Jersey she taught at Vassar from opening in 1866 rising to head of the mathematics department. She resigned in spring last year to wed Mr Merrick in November 1887. Mourning spreads across the land as Vassar and former students recall her twenty two years of service and her hopeful future.
Charles E. Boyle, recently named by President Cleveland to head the Washington Territory judiciary, died in his Occidental Hotel room in Seattle at 6:56 p.m. Saturday after a four day illness from quinsy and pneumonia. His widow Mrs Boyle and son Edward were at his bedside. Mrs Gardner Brewer of Boston died at 20 Beacon Street after years of illness. a Weld family member, she traveled Europe postwar, collected paintings, and supported charitable societies.
