A conference of about thirty brokers at Young's Hotel formulated an agreement among twenty five banking and brokerage houses holding United States Mining stocks to pool interests and safeguard the property. Banks and holders pledged cooperation, with a committee to finalize details and a morning reconvening set for nine.
The Franklin Association of press feeders seeks a $2 weekly raise from $10 to $12, submitting the demand to Navy 22 book and job office proprietors who gave no clear concession. A Wells Memorial mass meeting discussed delaying Master Printers and warned of mass abstention as 300 feeders pledged not to work.
In a St Louis A C match, Henry Nelse fell unconscious after a sixth round KO from Fred Bellerson in a prelim to the White vs Broad bout. Nelse died from brain concussion as physicians and police moved to detain Bellerson and his seconds.
The Edgewood five story, acre sized building housing 500 pupils burned this evening in Pittsburg. Teachers controlled panicked students and all are believed saved. The fire’s origin remains a mystery and property loss is very large though not yet estimated.
