Long Suspension May Kill Bike Races Here
National Cycling Association chairman R F Kelsey returned from New York where he acted as day referee in a six day race. He withheld comment on suspensions for riders including Jimmy Moran Bobby Walthour Hugh MacLean Nat Butler Jimmy Bowler Bennie Munroe John Bedell and Jed Newkirk awaiting an official statement to be issued today. If suspensions extend past April 19 outdoor racing in this region could end for a year, hitting Bobby Walthour hardest as he planned to race in the South and abroad until the season opener here. Powers may withhold payments to quitters, with a possible lawsuit from others seeking their pay.
