American Guernsey Cattle Club Holds 21st Annual Meeting

The American Guernsey Cattle Club met in New York on December 13 with about thirty members. President James M. Codman of Brookline Massachusetts was reelected. Sidney Fisher of Knowston Quebec and Levi P. Morton were named vice presidents. A. J. Cassatt of Pennsylvania was chosen to succeed Morton. Caldwell of Peterboro New Hampshire was reelected secretary and treasurer. Francis Shaw of Wayland Massachusetts was reelected to the executive committee. The other committee members remained.

Maine to Exhibit at Boston Sports Show 1909

Inland fisheries and game commissioners in Augusta decide Maine will make a major exhibit at the Boston sports show opening Feb 22 1909. A arrangements committee is named with G C Nichols as solicitor and Charles E Oak as treasurer. The commission has pledged 100 to begin fundraising to eclipse prior Maine displays.

Ross McCarthy the old owner of 4Yockey dies at his Rahway home aged 31. Marcus Daly buys the Bowerman Bros. three year old filly by Clay King and dam Alice Leyburn for 2500, plus Mattie the trotting mare from Peter Durica and makes an 8000 bid for Bow Belis offspring Rosy Morn from May Overton. John H. Shults hires A L Thomas to train Parkville Farm trotters in 1900. Thomas, from the West, formerly ran at Joliet and later managed W C Hendrickson’s horses in New Jersey. 320 Regiment Reunion Honors Fredericksburg Ties

At the American House the Thirty-second Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry held its annual reunion. The event recalled their Fredericksburg battle from thirty seven years earlier. Edmond McQuinn was elected president with a full slate of officers and an ensuing banquet featured speeches by Colonel Parker, McQuinn, Stone and others.

Nominated Officers Complicates Election Debate
