Unnoticed weapon kills a child in tailor shop

In a second floor tailor shop at 18 Province court a 5 year old boy, William Robinson, was accidentally shot and killed by his employer William H. Jackson. The 14 year old weapon had been lost by Patrolman Samuel Wilson and rediscovered with initials B P D. The shooting was ruled accidental after examination by Medical Examiner Harris. Jackson, 61, lived at 72 Compton street. the boy’s family resided at 74 next door. Jackson was released.

Revolver Incident Ends in Fatal Store Accident

Jackson recounts finding a revolver and placing it in his drawer for fourteen years. Last night Willie Jackson picked it up, it discharged, and Willie died after collapsing at the store bench. The body was taken to Undertaker Tinkham on Howard Street for burial.
