Three skaters died yesterday in thin ice incidents. New Hampshire reported two victims, the season's first drowning there, while Bridgeton Maine saw a skater drown after mistaking open water for black ice. Massachusetts had no reported deaths.
In Manchester New Hampshire a double drowning occurred at Lake Massabesic when thin ice broke under four skaters near Deer Neck bridge. Arthur E. Hatch and William Whidden both 25 disappeared after being swept under the ice while Henry Faust and an unknown woman were rescued by teammates. Efforts continued to recover Hatch and Whidden tonight.
Bert Libby aged 27 recently moved from South Harrison was drowned while skating with Chester Russell on Long Lake in Bridgeton Maine. They attempted to cross when Libby skated into open water in near darkness. The boat recovered the body today.
Ronald H. Anderson and Theodore Ellis were arrested in the grocery store of Harry Robinson at 188 Elm Street Everett by Officer J J Lonergan after he forced entry. The men were found in the cellar with stolen groceries and will be arraigned in Malden court on a burglary charge. Ellis 26 Elm Street Everett Thorndike 23 Thorndike Everett.

Anton Whittendorf, formerly of Beverly, attempted to light gas at 67 Shawmut avenue lodging house on Saturday night. Believing it off, he left the cock open and was found unconscious yesterday morning. he was taken to City Hospital and probably will recover.

Milliken's house and contents valued at 25 000 faced uninsured risk. Murphy's cottage damaged about 4000 with insurance.
Mrs Luther Bowman says her husband terrorized her for 15 years with jealous suspicions. After he threatened to kill an officer and blocked her access to help, she retrieved a revolver and shot him in the neck, wounding him seriously as police were called.

Worcester, Dec 11. A crowded Blackstone Valley trolley car jumped the rail on Millbury avenue near the city line injuring 23 people. The conductor William O'Brien was most seriously hurt, trapped in the crushed rear vestibule and in a serious condition at his Uxbridge home.
Three women were injured when a street car derailed near the Worcester sewage pumping station after striking paving blocks left by a repair crew. Mrs. Clara Ward of Warren Rhode Island sustained bruises and possible internal injuries as passengers were taken to private homes for treatment. The car tore across the street, demolished glass, and crushed a tree, while the conductor was pinned in the wreckage.
