Joe Kelley told the Post this morning that he agreed to manage the Boston National team next season. The deal was finalized in the Waldorf Astoria around 2 a.m. with owner Dovey presenting the offer.

Dec 10 report from New York describes the Fall River line steamer Providence colliding with a crowded Fast River ferry. The ferry loses part of its superstructure and passengers panic as a man and a woman jump overboard and drown, though confirmation is pending and no one is known to be killed or seriously injured.
The Providence's prow struck the ferry boat on the starboard side causing them to drift together. Passengers escaped to the steam er or were helped by tugs while the Providence suffered little damage. Charges of cowardice and brutality were later leveled at some ferry boat men. The ferry still carried 75 women and children on arrival at a slip.
