An unidentified man riding two horses was hit by a car on the Lynn Turnpike near Revere Street. He was taken to Frost Hospital in Chelsea in serious condition with a probable skull fracture. Age estimated 20s, medium height, heavy dark mustache.
E F Greenleaf, a lodger at 16 Massachusetts avenue, was found dead in bed yesterday morning with the gas partly on. Neighbors say he habitually left gas lit at retirement, and a gust from a nearby window likely extinguished the flame, causing his death.
Karl Becker known as the prince of forgers was sentenced to seven years in San Quentin for defrauding the Nevada Bank of San Francisco of over 20 000 by presenting a raised check.
At Madison Square Garden on December 14 Miller holds a dominant position in the long race. He has completed 1808 miles and leads Tie by thirty miles over rival Waller. Waller pressures hard since midnight but cannot overtake. Miller rests yet remains far ahead. Continued on Page 3.
