100 Years Old James Wood Celebrates Birthday in Portsmouth

James Wood, Portsmouth oldest resident, marked his 100th birthday at home on Jefferson street. Mayor Jenkins City Clerk Moore and city officials visited him. A native of Chiverstone England he has lived in Portsmouth nearly fifty years and comes from a long-lived family including sisters and relatives aged 70s to 90s in Davenport and locally.

Body identified of Owen Sullivan killed near Oak Island

The Rockport express killed laborer Owen Sullivan on the Oak Island tracks Monday evening. Sullivan, who lived on Light street, went to Revere for work and was walking home when struck. He has an unmarried sister on Blossom street.

Electric Car Falls Injure Two Men at Highlands

Two men were injured in separate electric car accidents at the Highlands last night. Cornelius McLaughlin city water worker jumped from a southbound Norfolk House car near the cathedral on Washington street and was severely injured. he lives at 30 East Lenox street and was admitted to City Hospital. John Taft of 611 Shawmut avenue attempted to board a moving electric at Heath street and Columbus avenue, was dragged about twenty five feet, and suffered a damaged left leg and right shoulder before the car was stopped. He was taken to City Hospital.

Suicide by Gas In Private Burlington Hospital

Mrs William J Henderson at a Burlington private hospital died from gas inhalation in a suicide early yesterday. Attendant left her about midnight and she was found dead in the morning from gas drawn through a rubber pipe. She had suffered violent headaches and was reportedly morphine addicted. The deceased, who moved in the best society, leaves a husband and son.
