Christian Hanson, the noted desperado who bombarded Farmer Flint's Lincoln residence last Saturday, was arrested yesterday afternoon in Everett. He had two revolvers and masks and made a desperate effort to shoot officers during the arrest.
Special Officer James E. Hines locked up Christian Hanson at 7 40 last evening in Station 1. Hanson is accused of bombarding George Flint’s Lincoln farmhouse last Saturday, smashing windows and stealing $2 under threats. Pearl Rasmus, a Swede, says he accompanied Hanson to Lincoln, and Hanson may face highway robbery charges.
The Boston Transit Commission leases the subway to the West End Street Railway Company for twenty years with annual rent tied to a four and seven-eighths percent return on cost or five cents per car. The deal aims to fund the subway in forty years, with southward tracks to Park Street Church ready in spring. The West End may sublet, and tracks and equipment are installed at the company’s expense.
