Rev Charles A Livingston testified in the divorce case, admitting authorship of letters written for Neils Gron to Bishop Brewster. The letters branded Mrs Gron as far from normal, and the clergyman said Gron’s sacred music genius is being ruined by rag time and jazz.
A letter to Bishop Brewster quoted Mrs Gron's former spiritual guide calling her comment on her eldest son's affair with a soldier's wife as what one hears from swaggering sinners. Other letters from the rector to Mrs Gron contained veiled threats and startling charges.
Paul Freeman an 18 year old Cambridge resident died from a self inflicted looking like accidental shot from a .44 caliber revolver found in his bedchamber at 20 Garfield Street. Dr A W Dudley attended as the weapon discharged in the right temple. The medical examiner stated the shooting was accidental after questioning the family.
Washington December 8 The Senate judiciary sub committee opened formal hearings led by Senator-Elect Shipstead against Pierce Butler St Paul attorney nominated to the Supreme Court associate justice post. Shipstead cited Butler corporate ties and Minneapolis traction connections as grounds for challenge while Professor William A Schaper testified about Butler amid his 1917 severance from the University of Minnesota faculty. The panel adjourned to next Wednesday as more witnesses are sought.

Alfred Cunco aged 24 of East Boston was arrested at 16 Princeton Street in a case accusing him of abducting 21 year old Josephine Mackey from Roxbury and restraining her in the Princeton Street house. Mackey was placed in her father Patrick Mackey's custody. Police say Cunco deprived her of shoes and clothing and forcibly detained her after a letter prompted the investigation.
