British naval authorities warned all Allied vessels to be on alert for a suspicious ship believed to be a raider. The craft was intercepted December 2 off Scotland but allowed to pass as the Dutch steamer Gamma, which was at Kirkcaldy then and did not depart until December 3.
Officials say the raider's identity is not established. If hostile, she could drop mines near this port and reach it on or after December 9.
