A reflective funeral poem by Mrs Eddy titled The Mother's Evening Prayer expresses faith and comfort. It speaks of divine presence guarding a child, enduring tears, hope, love, and trust in loss with angels singing and promises of turning toward rest.
Mary Baker G Eddy founder of the Christian Science Church will be laid in a temporary tomb at Mt. Auburn Cemetery today in a plain ceremony at 11 o clock. Those closest to her will escort the remains and the event will be understated in keeping with her wishes. million Scientists will await tidings from churches worldwide.
Distinguished guests including Governor Draper ex Governor John Mu Bates and Mayor Charles E Hatfield will serve as pallbearers. The ceremony will feature Mrs Eddy’s A Mothers Evening Prayer read by Mrs Carrol Hoyt Powers. Remains will be taken to Mount Auburn in a modest cortege of up to 15 carriages with about 60 attendees.

J Willard Brown former department commander of the Massachusetts G A R died of heart disease at his Stoneham home aged 71. He taught in Greater Boston schools for more than 46 years, passing away yesterday on High Street.
The deceased, a widower, had been ill for several weeks and death was expected. Survived by five children, two sons and three daughters, who were at his deathbed. A renowned Civil War veteran, he gained fame writing war reminiscences.
