Cabinet Rumors Refer to Closed Cabinet Slate

The Star reports the president may have assembled a cabinet slate and will send names to the senate soon. A group of senators pressed for a well known public man, but the president said, Gentlemen, the matter is already closed.

Fire in Boston Paint Shop Causes Notable Loss

Alarm from box 57 at 9 57 p m Wednesday announced a fire in John Cotton’s paint shop at 170 Harrison Avenue Boston. The blaze began likely by spontaneous combustion in a paint lot. Damage estimated at 206 dollars with 100 on stock and 100 on building.

Crowds Pack Courthouse For Trial Of Noted Assassin

A large crowd fills the court house as the timid assassin is brought in for trial. Judge, jury, experts and counsel are in place while Marshal Henry maintains order. Gen Sherman and several senators attend as witnesses and spectators observe the proceedings.
