A governor declares he will oppose any move to readmit ex police officers despite a planned appeal by elder members of the force. In Lynn a prominent local businessman is sued by his wife for alienation of affections against her husband.
Governor Coolidge spoke at Springfield last night opposing a move by younger Boston Policemen to sever ties with the AFL and to seek reinstatement of older members. He vowed to resist entrusting public safety to those forces and praised Americanism as the force guiding public confidence. President John F. McInnes listened to the governor’s remarks.
In Concord New Hampshire on November 6 Mau rice S Otterson proprietor of a garage was shot and instantly killed after a bandit overpowered and gagged his sister in law. The assailants ransacked the house and fled in a fast machine leaving investigators to search for clues and motive.

Mrs. Goodridge living with her husband at Walker street and Overlook road Swampscott says a long running affair between Goodridge and Miss Chadwick led to court action after nearly two years. She will discuss little else. Mr. Goodridge belongs to the Oxford Park and Essex County Clubs of Lynn and was once chairman of Lynn Board of Aldermen, known in Republican circles.
In 19 months of war 50,150 American soldiers were killed and 126,654 civilians died in accidents across the United States, averaging 220 daily. C. W. Price of the National Safety Council urged standardized safety measures to prevent three-fourths of these deaths during a Chicago district address to about 700 industrial representatives.

Mrs Shonts testified she lived apart from her husband until his death and was told by him that he had made a will in 194 before leaving for Panama. She said he showed her the document, though the authenticity could not be confirmed.
Corporal Herbert B. Reddington of the State Guards discharged his rifle accidentally while demonstrating its mechanism. The bullet struck John Blatz of 2% McDonald Street Dedham in the left shoulder at George H Laring drug store 1 and 2 Blue Hill Avenue Readville. Dr Martin L Briggs of Hyde Park treated Blatz and removed the bullet at Forest Hills Hospital.
