London reports show government coalition at 117 seats with Liberals 87 Labor 14 and Nationalists 16 while the opposition Unionists hold 116 after the second day of polling.
Mrs William Gifford wife of Captain Gifford staff captain of the Salvation Army and sister in law to Colonel Adam Gifford head of the Salvation Army in Boston has left her home her husband and her two daughters. W H Eaton is missing from 67 Mountford Street amid federal pursuit over bogus stock operations. Letters signed G reveal affections and Salvation Army references, claiming funds were diverted and money used in speculation. Captain Gifford reports his wife left 389 Dudley Street after 19 years of marriage. Mrs Eaton suspects about 14000 dollars of Army funds sunk in speculation. Gifford and Eaton have since consulted. Mrs Eaton vows no forgiveness.

A 15 000 fire at the five story building 69 75 Chauncy Street yesterday noon drove scores of women and men to panic. Fire started in the EB L Ham & Co basement stock of grass mattings and spread through cloak and suit workshops trapping and fainting several workers.

District Attorney Higgins has secured a key witness in the Hattie Le Blanc case. Zella A. Gallant, the French interpreter at the time Hattie was questioned, is expected to testify this afternoon or tomorrow. State Detective Byrnes is missing since last Thursday and is said to have located Miss Gallant in Nova Scotia to induce her return to Boston.

The body of Mrs Mary Baker G Eddy founder of the Christian Science Church will lie in a costly mausoleum near her Chestnut Hill home. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 11 AM and the body will be placed in a vault until the mausoleum is finished. Church directors and relatives will meet to arrange the astolgum building. The mausoleum will cost a large sum yet be small in size and positioned in a premier cemetery section ready for her reception.
An official of the Mother Church announces a lasting memorial to Mrs. Eddy. Christian Scientists will pilgrimage to the tomb from across the globe and yearly memorial services may be held. Funeral at Chestnut Hill at 11 am Thursday attended by Mrs. Eddy's family and Christian Science Church officials. Henry M. Baker, Mrs. Eddy's second cousin and adviser, will attend.
Boston police report 459 prosecutions in 17 days of a special crackdown on spitting on sidewalks and in designated areas. Police announce they will prosecute all offenders regardless of age sex or condition as the law is enforced.
Officials urged humane, reasonable enforcement targeting adults likely to know better than to violate the law. The advice sought to balance prosecution rights with leniency for ignorant or thoughtless offenders while preserving the police authority to prosecute under the law.
Melvin M. Johnson, senior counsel for the defense, has kept from the jury any hint of Hattie Le Blanc’s statements or actions at the Waltham police station the night she was found under a bed in the Glover home. The prosecution failed to prove English comprehension to admit the interpreter absent, making continuing hearsay and dying declaration evidence unusable in Judge Bond’s court.
In cross examination Policeman Currin says he searched the Glover house from cellar to garret three times and only found Hattie LeBlanc under a bed on Tuesday evening three days after Clarence Glover’s death. He also admits a prior search of the Waltham laundry found no enamelled primer or celluloid comb, cited as evidence the girl was there.
