The money market remains steady with growing demand for accommodations at banks. Rates for mercantile paper range from 4 to 5 percent, miscellaneous 6 to 7 percent, and corporation 4 to 4.5 percent, while call loans secured run 3 to 4 percent. Banks quote a 5 percent general rate. note brokers report 5, 5. and 6 percent. country banks hold firm Boston rates with ample business and day balances near 2 percent. New York funds trade 25 to 30 and 33 cents premium on 1060. Clearing house exchanges total 11,197,634 with balances 1,413,897.
