Providence reports Professor Charles P. Lebon, longtime Boston English High School French instructor, may lose his sight. He spends a week with son Marshall in Norwood before returning to Boston for eye specialist Dr. Frederick E. Cheney to attempt to restore his vision.
Joseph Brady a 50 year old resident of 272 Commercial street survived a fall at Battery street station when the E train halted moments before crossing his body. Motorman Hoy KL Adams of Somerville quickly applied brakes as Brady toppled toward the train pit. Brady is a Chelsea rail accident survivor now at Haymarket Relief Station with minor injuries and alcoholism.
Four year old Armando Fino son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Fino of 22 Carrol street Chelsea escaped death when a go cart he rode in was struck and demolished by a touring car owned by John F Jameson of 19 Oak street Everett The child was in the carriage in front of his home when the accident occurred and was thrown clear before the cart was run over.
Constantinople dispatch reports Rafet Pasha seeks 150 wives for former sultan’s harem. The women, aged 17 to 35, are penniless and available, with arrangements underway to match them with suitors. The effort aims to relocate the household and secure futures for the inmates.
