Carrie Gould of 18 Reading street and Louisa Seidlinger of 68 Savin street, both 16, were found an hour after Carrie’s mother reported them missing. Looting Pekin and Tien Tsin report on observatory instruments

Pro tests and requests have been forwarded to Field Marshal Count Von Waldersee urging removal of astronomical instruments from Pekin observatory. Most instruments, over 150 years old, are prepared for shipment to Berlin or Paris. The first locomotive, since the legation siege, ran from Tien Tsin to Pekin yesterday, with regular use expected by December 15.

The funeral of J Thomas Baldwin musical director and composer was held at his home 600 Columbus Avenue at 1 pm yesterday. Relatives and friends including St John’s Lodge Boston Commandery K T and St Pauls Royal Arch Chapter attended. Rev S H Roblin led the service with Knights Templars, an orchestra from Municipal Band Tremont Theatre Orchestra and Boston Cadet Band played Catlin and Sullivan pieces.
