The Boston commander of the 52d Brigade shares the fate of Edwards, Logan, Hume and other New England National Guard officers removed late in the war. He has been sent to the officers' dumping ground at Blois, about a week before the armistice was signed.
Brigadier General Charles H. Cole former adjutant general of the Massachusetts State Militia commanded the 52d Infantry Brigade in the New England National Guard division in France and has met the same fate as General Edwards.
