Latimer Surrenders After 18 Months as Wanted Swindler

William H. Latimer known as Handsome Harry, head of the Provident Investment Bureau, surrendered in Philadelphia amid $2000 bail. He, Frank Marrin, alias Judge Franklin Stone, and Stanley Francis, alias Arthur S. Foster, were indicted in 1905 for conspiracy and mail fraud linked to a get rich scheme and the Storey Cotton Company collapse. Francis was sentenced to five years. Marrin and Latimer fled to London. Latimer had fled earlier to London and met Marrin and Sophie Beck.

Bryan's Programme for Remainder of the Week

Today he leaves Grand Central for Stamford at 10 o clock and will speak in South Norwalk Bridgeport and New Haven with New England Democrats. He speaks on the New Haven green at half past 3 and attends a Bridgeport reception and dinner at 6 followed by an address in the Armory. Tomorrow he departs Bridgeport for Jersey City then Newark then returns to New York for dinner with newspaper men. He will rest Sunday and Monday he goes to Chicago escorted by a committee.
