Ber a L. Lynch of New London and Benjamin Meade Carroll of New London drowned at Pleasure Beach while attempting to rescue Carroll from heavy surf near a rock. Lynch’s body washed ashore after a rescue attempt by bystanders. Carroll’s body was recovered later. Lynch was a customs officer at the port of New London.

Circus Fight Resists Vermont Officers At Hyde Park Show
