New York and New England stock rises amid strong July earnings

The market shows strength with gains in New York and New England and Chicago, Burlington and Quincy rights. NY and NE opened at 24 and rose to 23 a close, then ended at 233. July earnings totaled 100,889 26 dollars, rate 1,318,630, the best since 1883. Goods include higher passenger revenue and lower operating costs, with a 54,798 05 gain over 1884. Dividends: Boston and Albany declares 2 dollars per share. Delaware and Hudson pays 1 percent quarterly. books close Aug 20 reopen Sept 11.
