Boat house moved on rollers to hedge’s wharf Chelsea

A strange removal of the old customs boathouse sold at public auction to Captain Alfred Sorensen was rolled along Long Wharf then across to the wrecking lighter Trilby and finally to Hedge’s wharf in Chelsea to serve as a storehouse for articles tied to the floating property of the owner’s fishing fleet. Captain William A. Andrews departs Atlantic City in the 18 foot Phantom toward Europe after a tight transit of the boathouse across the wharf and through the block passage. The Plant line Halifax and Dominion Atlantic steamer Prince Edward bring passengers and crew, while two stranded crewmen from the Gloucester Levanter and a note on other local maritime movements fill the harbor scene.
