About 20 000 spectators attended Monday and Tuesday, generating roughly 8000 dollars in receipts. With clear weather expected, another 10 000 supporters were predicted for today’s game.

Saved girl adrift in leaky boat at Revere Beach

A 12-year-old girl Clem entine Stearns drifted from shore in a half sunken old boat off Oak Island Revere Beach as strong wind and tide carried her out to sea. Lifeguard Bullard spotted the danger, boarded a lifeboat, and rescued her with two young companions watching. The crowd cheered the timely rescue.

Escape from Fort Ethan Allen After Night Prison Break

Six privates serving short sentences at Fort Ethan Allen Burlington Vermont escaped during the night from temporary quarters during guardhouse repairs. They reportedly crawled through wooden partitions and under the floor. Three were seen boarding a Boston bound freight at Essex Junction and three others were spotted near Milton. No trace found as cavalry units searched the area.

Hay and Lumber Blaze Destroys Fitchburg Yard Facility

A massive fire at the Fitchburg division hay and lumber shed in Charlestown damaged hundreds of tons of hay and thousands of feet of lumber. The blaze, likely from spontaneous combustion, threatened $70,000 in losses with over $500,000 of property saved thanks to Boston and Somerville fire crews and a responding fireboat. Firefighters faced water supply delays as hydrants were distant and drawbridges delayed access, while Night Yardmaster J. P. Tully and Foreman E. G. Hall helped remove cars from danger.
