U Boat Captured Crew After Four Hour Battle

The Campana calmly surrendered after a four hour Atlantic engagement. Captain and five gunners were taken aboard the German submarine on August 6. The U boat fired 400 shots with two hits. Campana exhausted 180 rounds and had no further shots to fire. Forty crew members and eight gunners survived to reach safety.
