London reports Mrs Florence Maybrick, serving an eleven year life sentence, held a private interview with her New York counsel Dr Clark Bell at Aylesbury prison. She expressed gratitude to Lord Russell of Killowen and to American supporters, and spoke of hopes for release and return to her mother and country.

Hun Chee Quits To Flee From Persecutors In Somerville

Hun Chee a Chinaman and complainant in a past assault and robbery case plans to leave Somerville for Newark. He says Highbinder Society persecutes him and fears leaving his Summer street shop alone. Police see his story but find no actionable grounds. He cites cut-rate laundries opening nearby as pressure to abandon business.

Body found on sidewalk near East Street Place

A man about 28 years old, 5 feet 7 inches, 160 pounds, with a brown coat and laced shoes was found on the sidewalk near 4 East Street Place at 5:30 yesterday morning by William Wallace of 9 South Street. The body was sent to Jones's undertaking rooms on Lagrange Street. Medical Examiner Draper will view it. No violence marks.

Young bootblack killed in elevator fall on Blackstone Street

Salvator Dedmonti, a youth bootblack, fell down an elevator well at 1 Blackstone Street and died instantly yesterday afternoon. His body was taken to Tinkham's undertaking rooms on Howard Street.

Close's Ac complices Arrest Ties to Forgery Case

Police arrested Frederick White of 24 Curve Street on a forgery charge for printing mileage books to defraud the Boston and Maine. In Municipal Criminal Court he was held on $1000 bail until August 31. White is alleged to be an accomplice of Close, the Lawrence man detained in New York on a related count.

Reduced Cambridge tax rate lowers levy this year

The Cambridge Board of Assessors announced a tax rate of 16.90 per thousand, down 2 cents from last year. Real estate valuation rises to 76,599,700 while personal estate totals 17,864,230, with the combined value up from 91,642,795 last year. The record shows ten year rate history from 1890 to 1899 with several fluctuations.

Worker Hurt After Fall From Staging Into Ship Hold

At 9 30 yesterday morning William Bradley Lee age 40 of 16 Harvard Street Charlestown fell from a staging into the hold of the schooner Annie A Wilder at Pier 5 Hoosac Tunnel dock. He sustained injuries to head and shoulders and was taken by police ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Winnie Davidson Missing from Roxbury Home

Winnie Davidson aged about 19 has been missing from her Bickford street home in Roxbury since last Thursday. Police from Station 10 say they have no word on her whereabouts. She told her mother she would visit a friend in Malden and return late, but she did not call on the friend. She is said to be fond of the theatre and there is a rumor she was seen with a theatrical man on Washington street days before she vanished.

Teamster Struck by Electric Car Injured in City Street

Michael Roberts, a teamster, was struck yesterday afternoon in front of 22 Guildrow. He sustained back injuries and was transported to City Hospital for treatment.
