Indian Exodus Moves Toward Mexican Frontier Led by Mollie Big Buffalo

In Wichita on August 21 a story claims ten thousand full-blooded Indians from the Southwest will abandon the territory for Mexico. Mollie Big Buffalo, a Ponca woman educated at Carlisle, allegedly organized the exodus and secured 6,000,000 acres in Chihuahua for a new Indian government with no agent.

The London Truth publishes correspondence on the Pretoria seizure of a letter from Montagu White to Secretary Reitz dated Aug 4 1899. Ward 10 Republican Club Organized by Young Voters

Whitman, national champion since 1898, beat W A Larned in Newport to claim the most watched match. Whitman's steady all round play carried the victory as the crowd watched intently.

Annual A.O.H. picnic and field day at Oak Island Grove

On August 23 the Division A. O. H. of Revere holds its yearly picnic and field day at Oak Island Grove. Activities start at 1 p m with a baseball game between Revere Rubber Co and Berkeley Bicycle Club Beachmont and a football match Emmets Chelsea and Emeralds Lynn. Meetings include team race K C and A O H open events with relays half mile tug of war potato race and three mile bicycle race. Prizes are individual medals for winners.

Kearsarge Arrives for Cape Ann Trial Near Boon Island

The United States battleship Kearsarge arrived yesterday morning and will be stationed near a buoy for the Alabama trial on the Cape Ann Boon Island course. It lies now in quarantine near the Kentucky.
