Five Mile Amateur Championship Heats End in Fierce Sprints

The five mile amateur championship heats produced intense sprinting on the bell lap. Ingraham of Lynnfield led Moran of Chelsea and other internationals as pace makers, with Moran and Ingraham trading the lead. Major Taylor won the professional heat and set up another likely victory in the mile, while a dramatic final of the five mile club team pursuit was halted after a fall and late lineup changes.
