In Auburn Andrews Wilfred Demers of Worcester and her 10 year old son Leslie drowned at Stoneville reservoir while trying to save each other. The boy fell first and dragged his mother in as he searched for balance. The mother was recovered at night and the boy's body was not found as the reservoir was drained.
