Two Vessels of Same Line Suffer Fatal Collision

Trains Collide Near South Lawn injuring seven
A Illinois Central passenger train bound for Chicago collided with a Grand Trunk freight at South Lawn, fifty miles south of the city, about 7:30 this morning. Seven people were injured, none fatally. Relief trains and wrecking crews work to clear wreckage as passengers are escorted to Chicago. A witness noted the Grand Trunk freight could have stopped earlier despite having the crossing right of way.

Medical examiner says the remains were exposed at least a year. Fortuna Arrives After Atlantic Passage From Southampton
Marblehead reports schooner yacht Fortuna owned by H. S. Hovey and commanded by Captain Josiah Newcomb arrived from Southampton. The voyage began July 15 with rainy weather. daily runs ranged from 6 to 187 miles, with two-thirds head winds and fog.
