Electric Light Works Burned in New York Fire
Fire at Brush Electric Light Company buildings 204 to 210 Elizabeth street caused by friction on the main shaft igniting greasy woodwork. Eleven water streams fought the blaze, saving neighboring tenements. Loss pegged at 10 000 for the structure and 70 000 to 90 900 for machinery and stock including thirteen boilers, a large engine, and thirty five dynamos. A two mile district lost electric lights.

Fires In Boston Cause Small Damages In Several Homes
A cellar blaze at No 89 George Street Dorchester owned by Thomas Connors triggered Box 233 at 8 25 pm and was put out in the second story of No 8 Chambers Street owned by Gaffney and occupied by Herman Haynes. A boy playing with matches started it. Damage 190 dollars. A fire at No 10 Adams Place Roxbury occupied by Mr Spencer caused an alarm at Box 221 around 12 50 am with unknown cause and light damage.
