Police raid nets liquor at multiple South Boston saloons
Sergeant Emerson and officers from the sixth division raided unlicensed saloons on Second Street and Bolton Street, seizing five gallons of lager and forty five gallons of ale with liquor. Catherine M Lydon resisted and was arrested. A fourth division search at Kingston Street found a small quantity of liquor.

Another West End Crook Caught
Robert Logan was arrested by Officers Abbott and Brickley in the third division on an indictment charging breaking and entering the residence of Joseph Zane at Blossoms and McLean streets on June 16, and stealing silverware. Logan, a member of the West End gang once led by Lowery, was indicted with Lowery but eluded capture until yesterday.

Daly's company finishes a Scottish tour and heads to Hamburg after Nancy and Company. Wilson Barrett's American tour maps New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Chicago, St. Louis, Louisville, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Washington, Baltimore, Brooklyn, and Boston in 1887–88. Bijou Theatre leased to Keith & Batcheller for six years, adopting a low-price policy for best attractions.

Open air gospel meeting and local social events noted
An open air gospel meeting was held at Samsica Plain under the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. A ladies and gentlemen meeting planned a picnic at Amory Grove Roxbury next Tuesday. Weston Lewis becomes treasurer and manager of Mystic Rubber Company succeeding George Hinman. Telegraphers’ Mutual and Literary Association toured Downer Landing with about two hundred participants. Nantasket steamers reported unprecedented Sunday patronage from Rower wharf to the beach. Charles Venaia attacked Burdette on Cambridge Street. Burdette treated by Dr. Cilley and Venaia held in the city lockup.
