Alimony Award For Mrs De Bost From Two Husbands
In New York on August 14 an attorney commented that matrimony is profitable after Mrs. Fannie P. De Bost received 60 dollars a month alimony plus a 150 dollar counsel fee from Louis L. De Bost. She had previously lived with Elbridge Gerry Snow Jr. and already received 4000 dollars yearly from him. The case, a second separation suit, follows a 1903 divorce with custody of two children and 5000 dollars alimony, and a 1907 remarriage to the De Bost. A bid to raise alimony to 8000 a year was denied in 1909 by Justice McCall.
