We view Crow Heart Butte and the Shoshone and Crow ancestral lands then ride 12 miles to lakes named for Capt. Terry where trout are said to abound. Two antelope and few grouse provide today’s game. Shoshone Dick travels with the party seeking signs of game. Camp Stager honors Gen Anson Stager of Chicago.
NEWBURYPORT MASS August 14 The 2nd Massachusetts Regiment association met in this city hosted by Capt Henry W Moulton on Moulton hill The program included harbor trip Salisbury beach sail up the Merrimac to Moulton hill with salute dinner and speeches Capt H W Moulton was chosen president for the coming year Lieut W F Tufts Capt G R Reed and Capt C H Smith were elected vice presidents S C Spaulding named secretary and treasurer and an executive committee of 12 named
The grand lodge of Odd Fellows of Maine met in Portland with Grand Master Cook presiding. The meeting drew the largest attendance on record as more than 250 ballots were cast for officers. Elected were Grand master D. Henry Crockett of Portland Deputy grand master A H Conant of Oldtown grand warden R B Capen of Augusta grand scribe Joshua Davis of Portland and grand treasurer Stephen K Dyer of Portland.
About 300 Boynton relatives gathered in Newburyport Mass with Prof. Boynton of West Point presiding. Prof. John F. Boynton of Syracuse opened the program and E M Boynton served as temporary chairman. The gathering traced the family history in France and England and aims for a permanent Boynton association and full registration.
The American Dental Association opened at the town hall in Saratoga New York. Dr C Stockwell of Springfield Mass presented Micro organisms essential factors in dental caves and Dr Charles Boynton of Vermont spoke on Fer mentation and Patrifaction.
Montreal Aug 14 The Southeastern Railroad directors met but adjourned as Mr Chapman had no offer ready. The meeting will resume when the syndicate can present a definite proposal.
The flagship Tennessee under Rear Admiral George K. Cooper departed St. Lucia on Aug 12 bound for Portland, Me. An Allan Line contract will carry cattle from Ontario to across the ocean via Montreal and Boston this fall. A Poughkeepsie despatch reports ex County Clerk Andrew C. Warren died from a fall on his farm near Stanford. He fractured his neck and died instantly. El Pueblo published a decree by Gen Iglesias requiring Peruvians 21 to 60 and foreigners over a year old to pay one silver dollar. In Trenton Charles A. Knobloch and wife argued. he claims she pushed him into the Raritan canal. he was rescued, she drowned, and is held. Charles Wheeler, 24, died after being struck by trains at Moscow, Pennsylvania. body found with limbs torn. In Lexington William Garwood, a white man, was tarred and feathered after marrying a negro woman. He fled and hasn’t been heard from. In Buffalo Judge Barker denied a new trial for James Lyon, embezzlement convict, sentenced to four years at Auburn State Prison. Lyon’s counsel appeals. Lyon’s partner Joseph Bork is serving five years at Auburn.
New York August 14. George William Ballou & Co suspended trading after declaring that customers failed to meet margin calls. The firm, with Boston ties, assigned to Theodore Nevins and expected a temporary halt. Liabilities estimated at 400000 to 500000 with broad market speculation and potential ripple effects across major houses.
In Louis, Aug 14 W P Edgerton chief postal inspector says a gang of Indian desperadoes fired on the Fishimengo post office in Indian Territory and the postmaster fled to Muskogee He advised not to return if life is in danger and directed Caddo to halt mail until further orders No details yet and Fishimongo lies 30 miles from Caddo near rails or telegraph lines
Early today in Helena Arkansas pistol shots rang out and Marshal E M Mooney was found dying in front of his office. He had been ambushed with no clue to the murderer.
Harrisburg report notes the senate apportionment committee on August 14 rejected the Lowry congressional apportionment plan proposed for the House. The action blocks the immediate adoption of the plan and shifts focus to alternative boundaries and negotiations among lawmakers. The outcome affects local districts and party strategies moving into the next electoral cycle.

Ham mod store St Leonard's Saint John 10,000. Scheiteles beer brewery Egg Harbor City 20,000. Shilburne Gat six stores 30,000. Brunswick house Sackville struck by lightning 16,000. Sinclair's saw mill Newcastle 30,000.

Report copies ruled false about three Wright children deserting their England father and boarding a British steamer to Boston. Ann Eliza 11 Jane 7 and Charles 4 were prepaid-for by friends and met by their aunt Mrs Jane Carter on arrival at the dock, after Mr Eben P Raymond notified authorities.

Attorneys for Central Trust Co filed in the U S circuit court a bill in equity seeking foreclosure of a $1,000,000 first mortgage bonds on six per cent notes. The action targets Toledo Cincinnati and St Louis Cincinnati Northern Spring Grove Avondale and Cincinnati railway companies and Greenville D Browan over unpaid interest dates Oct 1 and April 1.
The text of the treaty of commerce and amity between Mexico and Germany is officially published. It grants most favored nation status, exempts Germans from taxes not levied on Mexicans, and relieves them from military service contributions and forced loans.

Daniel McCarty Whitinsville 30 fell under a moving freight train at Millville, three cars passed over him. Charles Barker 20 Penniman house Onset bay drowned after boat capsized during a row with two girls. his body not yet found. Methodist camp meeting at Lake View Framingham begins Tuesday under Rev. H. W. Boston with three daily services until Monday. Plymouth steam fire engine No. 1 and hand engine No. 4 plan visit to Provincetown Friday with Drum corps, via Old Colony railroad and Steamer Longfellow.
Carlos Day of West Avon, 75, was killed entering his home when struck by lightning. A powder works building at Hazardville exploded Tuesday morning, killing employee James Leonard. The explosion, likely caused by carelessness, involved about a ton of powder and produced small losses overall.
Messrs Raymond and Whitcomb organize two wavellers parties for a winter Pacific coast visit. Monterey hosts the Hotel del Monte with mild climate. six months were spent there by a prior group. Plans also include Santa Barbara San Diego and San Francisco Palace Hotel. Members may travel largely at will under Raymond guidance. Full details to be released in a forthcoming circular.
An unusually large audience gathered at Hotel Nantasket on Tuesday to see Mr. Paine repeat his pyrotechnic water effect themed after Niagara Falls and Capt Webb. The show featured a 25 by 18 foot water-framed display with a head of the late hero, bright lances, and a Baldwin band accompaniment. Proceeds from the concert benefited Capt Webb’s widow and children, totaling about $300.
Five generations are living in the Lambert line. Mrs. Lambert, 75, lives in South Boston, with daughter Mrs. Clapp 53, wife of Amos Clapp long tied to the Boston Journal. Granddaughter Mrs. Ella Plumer 37, married to Joseph A. Plumer longtime clerk in the Boston assessors office. Great granddaughter Mrs. Mary Ballard 24 resides in Gloversville New York, her child yet unnamed, born Friday August 10. Mrs. Clapp and Mrs. Plumer each had a child at about 16, making Mrs Plumer a rare 37 year old grandmother.

Moses, superintendent of Sewers, disputes Alderman Haldeman's charges and says no unaccounted contracts exist during his tenure.

The object shows coordinates at discovery Aug 12 13:40:27 Clinton mean time RA 21h 20m 48.17s Dec south 12°29′8.2″ with daily motion minus 36s in RA and 20′50″ south in Dec. It is unusually bright for an asteroid at ninth magnitude.

Speakers denounced Western Union monopoly urging wage gains and public support for telegraphers amid strong applause from labor and Knights of Labor members.

Patrolmen arrest Mansfield Walker, a 21 year old Chicago sailor, after he knifed Edward Lyndholm, mate of the James L. Flannigan, at Williams’s coal wharf. Walker resisted and was overpowered. Lyndholm’s condition serious.

William W. Meade U S N longtime chief clerk to the inspector of provisions and clothing died at his Belmont Massachusetts home Tuesday morning. Chief Naval Constructor T D Wilson U S N visited the navy yard Tuesday with an 11 gun salute honoring Meade and inspected the U S ship Shenandoah. The schooner Geo C Green, discharging coal for the equipment department, sailed Tuesday evening. An inquiry is expected into Curator Massie of the Museum for charging admission to a free government institution.
In superior criminal court Tuesday Arthur K Blaney received a seven year state prison term for embezzling 14000 dollars from the Massachusetts Loan and Trust Co dating to 1880. John H Drew also drew five years for arson in a Devonshire Street store fire amid related theft complaints against Moore and Smith farmers.
The boys branch membership grows daily and a Saturday meeting moves to 3 o clock in the association hall Tremont Street corner Eliot for cash boys from R J Roberts gymnasium superintendent to give a practical gymnastics talk and health rules exhibition with a class of boys attending instead of Windsor theatre.
The Belmont Rowing Association schedules a second regatta for Thursday at 7 PM off Jeffries Point in East Boston with three crews entered for the four oared working boat race. Also noted is the 23rd wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs Joseph R Grose at No 367 Fourth Street South Boston on Monday evening Sept 3.
