For years M. A. Broderick of 115 Bedford street Arlington dreamed of owning an auto. He worked as a starter for the Boston Elevated and yesterday a Post reporter drove him a new Ford touring, fulfilling his daydream of country roads at the wheel.
Sr Stephen Rushmore of Newton Centre has been chosen as the dean of Tufts Medical School. Rushmore has been an associate professor of gynecology at Tufts Medical School for several years.
Thomas A. Edison unveiled a year old gift from President Harding a plug of chewing tobacco at the Edison plant during the Ediphone forty fifth anniversary. Edison noted he kept the item concealed until today and recalled the White House meeting after a Virginia camping trip.
In Suffolk Superior Court New England Telephone seeks removal of 3 to 5 feet of underpinning for its Beach Exchange building. Conflagrations raged in Cork through Thursday night as firemen fought many blazes. The business district lay in ruins with damage estimated at 10 million dollars.
J Raymond Daniels of Springfield was arrested by Deputy U S Marshal Pine of Boston for impersonating a Federal officer and larceny. He pleaded not guilty and is held on 3000 bonds for Aug 16 hearing. Evidence came from W S Fielding, ex reserve officer. warrants issued for two federal prohibition officers.
Jewelry valued over $30,000 and valuable antiques were stolen from several prominent New York families in York Harbor Mo within 24 hours. Police have no tangible clue and believe the burglaries were carried out by someone familiar with the victims. A $700 reward has been offered by the town.
