A fusee explosion at the Vulcan Manufacturing Company plant in Newtonville killed Antonio Bosselli, 49, and seriously injured Frank Zezan, 26, and James Cafarello, 34. The blast damaged a small tamping room and rattled nearby houses while ten coworkers aided the injured before Bosselli’s death at Newton Hospital. Cafarello and Zezan remained hospitalized but were not listed as in danger by late night.
