Deaths in Local Waters Near Boston Reported

Walter Herberg twenty nine or thirty of Waverley Hospital drowned from a canoe in Lake Guannapowitt Wakefield. George Gray Jr seventeen of South Quincy drowned in Quincy reservoir Braintree. Frank Dabut of New Bedford drowned in Wamsutta Pond. Edward Dunphy twenty six of Houghton Square Lynn drowned from a motor boat off Nixs Mate.

Four Drownings Near Boston Mark 48 Hours Toll

Four people died by drowning near Boston yesterday with several others rescued. The incidents occurred at Wakefield Braintree New Bedford and Boston harbor, with thrilling rescues including a Roxbury man saving an unconscious bather at the L Street baths during a guard's temporary absence. The tally rises to eleven drownings in 48 hours including seven in East Freetown.

In London on August 10 Sylvia Pankhurst led a third attempt by suffragettes to storm Prime Minister Asquiths Downing Street residence.
