In Gardiner Maine on August 11 Mr Hayes Gardiner an instructor at Harvard and Miss Rosalind Richards of Gardiner saved the life of George W. S. Michaelis of Cambridge Massachusetts who could not swim after tipping from a canoe. They reached him as he sank for the third time and brought him to safety despite the danger to their own craft.
