Casablanca August 9 news reports Moorish forces renewed their attack but suffered heavy losses from warship fire. Consulates in the city now guarded by machine guns. Moorish losses estimated around 2000.
Spain and France plan to dispatch more troops and ships to Morocco while Germany shows keen interest. The eight hundred Moor and Jewish bodies have been removed from native dwellings after the Jewish quarter is sacked. The French commander has arrested wealthy Moors and jailed those with arms caches.
In Concord New Hampshire on August 9 a key development occurred in the Eddy case as Calvin A Frye secretary to Mrs Eddy was served a summons to appear before Magistrate Edmund S Cook at 9 am tomorrow. John W Kelley counsel for the next friends says it is essential to learn how Mrs Eddy's business has been conducted and that Frye may face contempt if he refuses to answer.

The scene featured a mock court session, loud demonstrations, and a rump convention as Moran’s office called for orderly proceedings. A truce formed before lunch and jurors to be questioned Monday.
