Alva Yacht for Vanderbilt to Be Launched Early September

The Alva yacht, 262 feet long with 82 feet beam, built by Harlan & Hollingsworth of Wilmington for William K. Vanderbilt, is due for launch in early September likely September 7. It features steel hull with double riveted seams, two decks, teak trimmings, Oregon masts, electric lighting, and extensive luxurious fittings with about twelve guest staterooms and private Vanderbilt apartments. The vessel, valued between 300000 and 500000 dollars, is supervised by Samuel Jackson of Liverpool and may embark on a world cruise once finished.
