Hawaiian affairs report from Minister Blount arrives to the Secretary of State in Washington. He is expected about August 20 to participate in conferences with the resident and Secretary Gresham over the amended protocol of a treaty submitted by the provisional government.

Antone Rossa a 48 year old Portuguese fruit dealer living at 9 Barton Street is at Massachusetts General Hospital with a bullet wound in the fleshy part of the arm. He cannot speak English and an interpreter was not present, so details of how he received the wound could not be learned.
Denver August 3 County Commissioner Twombley has gone east to investigate the case of Dr Graves He will probably interview witnesses and determine whether Dr Graves will be tried again He plans to visit Providence and Boston during the inquiry.
President Cleveland will depart Gray Gables tomorrow for Washington accompanied by Secretary Carlisle Secretary Lamont and Attorney General Olney. The party plans to travel via Fall River line with Lamont joining from Sorrento and Olney returning to Washington. O'Brien completed duties at Abington and aides arranged last calls with local press at the bay.

In Bridgeport on August 3, Mrs Ellen Tierney and her sister Mrs Bridget O’Neil fought over O’Neil’s husband. Tierney allegedly threw boiling water, scalding O’Neil fatally. Tierney was arrested and O’Neil was taken to hospital with severe burns.
John Costigan, 70, of 770 East Sixth street, South Boston, leaped from a moving electric car at Broadway and I street last evening. He fell and sustained slight head injuries, then was returned to his home under care.
Seven year old Mary Calder, living at 9 Norwich Street, fell in bed while playing with other children yesterday morning, injuring her spine. Dr Fernald attended and ordered her removal to City Hospital.
In Meriden Connecticut a 35 year old man died in the freight yard while stealing a ride on a moving train. His body suffered severe injuries including a nearly severed head, crushed feet and hands, and a broken right leg.
Honore Herbert aged 31 was instantly killed at Amoskeag when struck by a passing train on one track while attempting to avoid a freight on the adjacent line. He was unmarried.
