Harvard Aeronautical Society Cleared in Sanction Bid
The Aero Club of America reportedly sanctioned Harvard Aeronautical Society's Soldiers Field meet after officials in New York confirmed favorable action. Clifford B. Harmon telegraphed council approval while presenting that opening the meet to all qualified aviators was essential. Curtiss contract disputes with Charles Hamilton loom over participation as Hamilton seeks entry in his own biplane. Harmon hinted at entering the Hazard contest with a new Bleriot monoplane.

May Raise Pier Insurance Rates
Fires on piers and aboard steamers push local underwriters toward not renewing bills of lading insurance or raising rates. Past losses show heavy payouts: 1906 losses equaled 185 dollars per 10 dollars insured, 1907 125, 1908 138, and last year 172, with six months left in the current year and disaster frequency likely.
Milkmen seek continued leased car rate system
W B Sears for H P Hood & Sons argued before Judge Hitchcock that Boston & Maine rates are confiscatory and unfair to milk producers. Sears cited four years of underfilled car service that benefited the railroad, urging continuation of leased car rates under the Saunders act. Boston & Maine contends its schedule is fair and that rate disputes fall to the railroad commission. Judge Hitchcock reserved decision.
