Attleboro August 1. Arthur Nelson Crosby son of capitalist Alfred R. Crosby and Margaret Langille a factory worker wed in a hurried ceremony with a rush to a minister in a fast car and a swift honeymoon dash. Parental objection was anticipated. plans were kept secret among close friends.
Miss Langille, a Nova Scotia immigrant, met Crosby in town and rapid courtship led to a Friday afternoon marriage license. Reverend J Lee Mitchell presided at the Congregational parsonage as Crosby Jr and Miss Langille became husband and wife before leaving for an unspecified honeymoon. Crosby Sr, a noted jewelry maker and financier, reportedly refused to discuss the marriage.
In Dedham Judge Hutchinson held Elmer F. Laird of Quincy Frank Egan of Winthrop John J Daily of Revere and Arthur A Barrett of Boston for August 9 on charges of trying to obtain 500 dollars from John and Elizabeth Newberry of Needham through a false pretence. The men allegedly visited the Newberrys, contract holders for Boston garbage collection, claiming to represent the Federation of City Town and County Employees to fund an outing.
Danvers reports Mrs Mary Hawes aged five of 168 Pearl Street Malden was injured when she tripped while alighting a trolley car and fell into the street. She was carried to Malden Hospital by train arriving at the station.
The National Council of the Aero Club of America voted to deny sanction to any aviation meet not open to all qualified and licensed aviators. The decision follows Charles K. Hamilton’s protest against Glenn H. Curtiss over entry to a Harvard aviation meet. The ruling is widely seen as a rebuke to Curtiss without naming him.

A. Lawrence Rotch president of the Harvard Aeronautical Club declined to confirm whether the Northeast Harbor meet would proceed. He cited it as a decision for the club directors and said James V. Martin has been arranging the details while he awaits contact.
